Fiber Optics LAN Section (FOLS) of Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)
The Fiber Optics LAN Section (FOLS) of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) was formed to provide a resource for end users who want to learn about the advantages that fiber optic technology brings to customer-owned local area networks (LANs). As such, we strive to provide up-to-date information on fiber technology, the application of fiber in premises applications and standards updates.

IEEE 802.17 Resilient Packet Ring Working Group
The IEEE 802.17 Resilient Packet Ring Working Group (RPRWG) develops standards to support the development and deployment of Resilient Packet Ring networks in Local, Metropolitan, and Wide Area Networks for resilient and efficient transfer of data packets at rates scalable to many gigabits per second. These standards build upon existing Physical Layer specifications, and will develop new PHYs where appropriate. IEEE 802.17 is a unit of the IEEE 802 LAN/MAN Standards Committee.
